Doctor Faustus was the 2025 Summer Season Original Practices production at the Colorado Shakespeare Festival.
Following what historians believe Shakespeare and his contemporaries practiced in their day, this production had unique circumstances. Actors pulled their own costume pieces (with extensive help from the costume shop), they were given only their lines and 20 hours of rehearsal.
Rather than having a director, this production had an Actor Manager who helped guide the process. Sound effects were done using live instruments and a prompter was on stage during performances to aid actors with their lines.
Both performances were sold out and this is considered to be a fan favorite for regular CSF attendees.
