The McGrath Family has farmed the region for over 100 years, and will host the APCG for a BBQ and Hayride on their farmstead, just miles from the conference hotel, and situated in the middle of a working pumpkin patch.
Enjoy an old-fashioned hay-ride, some excellent local cuisine (Snapper Jack's - killer fish tacos, etc), local beer, local wine, and an enlightening discussion about the future of sustainable farming with Agroecologist Liz Carlisle of UC Santa Barbara.
Highlighting the evening will be a discussion on regenerative farming with Agroecologist Liz Carlisle of nearby UC Santa Barbara
Dr. Carlisle will discuss her latest book, Healing Grounds: Climate, Justice, and the Deep Roots of Regenerative Farming along with a variety of agricultural topics that are of deep interest in Ventura County - one of the richest farmlands in the world.
