Our conference date precludes the inclusion of a guided tour of Ventura Harbor, but you can rent a variety of boats, kayak, paddleboards, etc. dockside from Ventura Boat Rentals.  You can paddle or float around the harbor and take in the sites.  Ventura Harbor remains a port of call for a variety of fishing boats, hundreds of yachts and other pleasure craft and a robust colony of harbor seals.

Self Guided Driving Tours

Ventura County has multiple scenic areas available for exploration by car.  The Topa Topa and Santa Monica ranges create dramatic scenery above some of the world's most valuable agricultural valleys.  Scenic agricultural towns, like Ojai, Santa Paula and Ojai within an easy drive from the conference hotel.  Numerous local farms offer guided tours of their agricultural lands.   The drive "down the coast" and back through hidden Valley will take you through some of California's most iconic scenery - used in countless movies, television shows and TV commercials.  You can find excellent lunch spots almost anywhere.

Steve Graves suggests taking one (or both?!) of the loop drives below - and modifying as you see fit or your time permits.
