Because technology is dynamic, our understanding of the most effective and responsive means to connect with students must be as dynamic. Ongoing professional development, then, is a central component to effective online teaching.
I grew up with a Lifelong Learning attitude as there is so much to discover and improve in everything we do. Before starting the @ONE courses, I already had 2 professional licences (RD and RN) as well as 2 Master's degrees and a PhD.
Taking the @ONE courses taught me additional pedagogy and technological skills, which I have been trying to utilize in all my courses and implement in every new course I design -- -- hoping to instill a 'lifelong leaner attitude' in each of my students.
There is always room for improvement, and the learning experience never stops. Hence, I will continue to take advantage of every learning opportunity I get to improve my teaching in order to ensure optimal student outcomes and success.
This is my collection of @ONE course badges I received over the last 18 months.

As Registered Dietitian (RD), Registered Nurse (RN), and Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) I have the professional duty to complete at least 90 hours of continuing medical education every 5 years; as you can probably imagine, I often exceed these hours as I love to learn new things.
