How often do I need to be active in course discussion board posts?

Faculty should make discussion posts/replies 5 days per week.

How long should it take to return graded work?

Instructors should return graded work to students within 7 days of completion with constructive feedback, not just a score or rubric checkbox.

How often should announcements be posted in the course?

Announcements should be posted once a week for students.

When is the instructor to begin communication with students?

A welcome announcement should be posted in the course the week prior to the start. 

Do I need to schedule collaborative sessions based only on the students' schedule?

Yes, synchronous sessions should be scheduled based on instructor and student availability.  There is also a recording option for the virtual meetings, in case some students are unable to attend at the selected time.
