I am teaching CGS402 (Applied Cognitive Science) this semester.
I joined the Department of Cognitive Science at IIT Kanpur as an Assistant Professor.
November 2024:
The elective CGS course- CGS614 (Cognitive Underpinnings of Learning and Technology)- I offered, came to an end. As part of the end-sem task, UG students conducted field studies to understand the cognitive impact of different ed-tech applications on real users. An interesting work from the course was submitted to the CSCL (Computer Supported Collaborative Learning) -2025 Conference. Fingers crossed!
Happy to have presented two interesting papers at the ICCE Conference, held at the Ateneo De Manila University, from 24th to 29th November in Manila, Philippines.
It was exciting to have chaired this fantastic session on Advanced Learning Technologies at the 32nd ICCE Conference, Philippines (Manila)
July 2024:
Exciting news coming from the ICCE (International Conference on Computers in Education) Conference. Two papers focusing on Computational Thinking and IDC Theory have been accepted as full papers in the conference to be held in November 2024 (Manila, Philippines). I congratulate Master students- Shashaank Pinnamaraju and Lazar Tony from the Dept of Cognitive Science, IIT Kanpur for their first paper in this conference. Their work on mapping behavioral dispositions of middle school children on real-life algorithmic tasks using a basic sorting task has implications for digital literacy and curriculum design. I also congratulate Sandeep Yadav, Ph.D. scholar in Educational Technology at IIT Bombay for his work on fostering desirable learning habits using the IDC (Interest-Driven Creator) theory.
