I am a Nepal-born Australian academic and researcher, passionate about higher education and graduate employability. I joined the University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ) in 2016.
I earned my PhD in Information Systems through an Australian Research Council (ARC) Industry Linkage project, collaborating with ICT practitioners and academics from UniSQ and Griffith University in Queensland, Australia. My doctoral research developed and evaluated a software-mediated process assessment approach in IT Service Management. I was awarded the best Australian PhD in Information Systems (2016) by ACPHIS (Australian Council of Professors and Heads of Information Systems). I am also a winner of the Queensland iAwards in IT innovation (2015).
My research is interdisciplinary, bridging Information Systems, Computer Science, and Management disciplines. I focus on ICT use, Digital Transformation and Knowledge Management in businesses and communities. I use a range of methodologies but Design Science Research is my primary methodological interest.
I have authored 100+ research outputs, published in leading journals such as Journal of the Association for Information Systems (ABDC A*), Information & Management (ABDC A*) and International Journal of Information Management (ABDC A*). Other Q1 journals include Journal of Knowledge Management, Technological Forecasting & Social Change, Government Information Quarterly, IT & People, Information Systems Frontiers, and many more.
I serve as Associate Editor (Asia Pacific) for the Journal of Innovation & Knowledge (ABDC A, Q1).
I am Australia’s national representative for Standards Australia, contributing to ISO/IEC JTC1/SC7 software engineering standards.
Before academia, I worked in the IT industry for 8 years, progressing from software development to IT project management - experience that continues to shape my teaching and research.
I aspire to global academic leadership, primarily building impactful initiatives in higher education for regional communities in Australia and Nepal, and fostering global knowledge exchange and sustainable development.
