At the SCA Health & Wellness Club, we believe that true health extends far beyond food and exercise.
Wellness is influenced by many areas of our lives — our relationships, our environment, our sense of purpose, and even the amount of joy we experience day to day.
One powerful tool for understanding this is the Circle of Life. This visual exercise helps us reflect on different aspects of our lives and see where we feel balanced — and where we may want to make small improvements.
The goal is not perfection, but awareness and balance.
The Circle of Life includes twelve key areas that influence our overall well-being.
Your sense of purpose, meaning, and connection to something greater than yourself.
Self-expression through art, hobbies, innovation, or creative thinking.
Feeling comfortable and secure in managing your financial life.
A sense of fulfillment from how you spend your time, including work, volunteering, or meaningful pursuits.
Learning, growing, and staying mentally engaged through new ideas and experiences.
Your overall physical well-being, including preventative care and how your body feels day to day.
Movement and exercise that keep your body strong, flexible, and energized.
Preparing nourishing meals that support health and enjoyment of food.
Creating a living space that feels safe, comfortable, and supportive.
Meaningful connections with partners, family, and close friends.
Community, friendships, and shared experiences that bring connection and enjoyment.
Moments of happiness, laughter, playfulness, and appreciation for life.
This simple reflection exercise can be done several times a year.
Look at each category in the Circle of Life.
Place a dot along the line for each category to represent your current level of satisfaction.
Center of the circle = less satisfied
Outer edge of the circle = very satisfied
Connect the dots to create your personal Circle of Life.
Step back and look at the shape of your wheel.
Ask yourself:
Where do I feel balanced and fulfilled?
Which areas could use a little more attention?
What one small step could improve that area of my life?
Most people fall somewhere in between in many areas — and that is perfectly normal.
The Circle of Life is meant to be revisited over time.
As our lives change, different areas naturally move in and out of balance. By checking in periodically, we can make small adjustments that support a healthier and more fulfilling life.
At the SCA Health & Wellness Club, we encourage our members to revisit this exercise regularly as part of their personal wellness journey.
