Facebook Posts

Facebook was and is an important part of sharing the Expedition with my friends, family, and colleagues. Because of the Expedition, I post fairly regularly about the Arctic and how different and distinct the polar region is from the temperate and tropical regions most of us know. My goal is to share how beautiful and awe inspiring this region is so that people who know me will feel a connection to it, even if it is second hand. The polar regions are feeling the effects of climate change in profound ways that we at more temperate latitudes aren't and won't for a while yet. My hope is people will care a little more.

Below is a curated selection of Facebooks posts related to being a Grosvenor Teacher Fellow. I tried to show the arc of the process; from selection to preparation to sharing photos and then to the kinds of things I am posting as a result of this experience.

The photo in the header of this page is of my fellow Fellows, Shiona and Jenny. We actually weren't posting to Facebook. We were writing the daily recap that Lindblad sends out. I personally chose not to go on social media at all till I returned, a good decision I discovered because Internet access was spotty and when available very slow.
