Cyber Security in the News
This article talks about how a former Disney World employee hacked into the customers servers to change information about restaurant menus. He changed details about allergy information in the restaurant's foods and put profane language on the menus. He also hacked Disney employee accounts to disable them. Luckily the hacked menus weren't shipped out to the restaurant but the Disney and its employees were still affected by the hacking, I think when working for big coorperations it good to alert your place of work when facing any sort of online problems when using their services.

This article talks about how scammers use phishing to exploit the viral news of Pope Francis's death to trick people into giving up their sensitive information. The scammers would post AI generated images of the Pope on social media websites and when someone would click on it, it would redirect them to a page promoting a gift card scam. Social media users were effected by this if they clicked on the image and fell for the gift card scam. I think that people need to be more educated on online money theft scams and how they shouldn't give up their personal information so easily on the internet.

Lesson Learned: This section has taught me about how many cyber security problems there are online. I feel like I've known about some of these cyber security issues but never knew the proper terminology for them especially words like phishing, spoofing, or pharming. I think that this information is going to help me be more alert when it comes to using social media and online services.
