Today, I discuss with guitarist Mathieu Brown about the magic of birds, how we perceive them, and how our relationships with them can be translated in sounds, melodies, and rhythms. Who are some important characters that connected birds and music? Why do different birds translate to different sounds? What is the relationship between “animality” and “humanity” through the sound of music, and what if we added critical race theory into it?
Hi guys! I’m Fatem, and I love to write, play, and explore different types of sounds and music! I am also currently studying in Anthropology and Sociology, and love to connect different topics and subjects together! I truly believe that everything is inter-related, so finding patterns that demonstrate so is one of things that helps my path in understanding who, what, and why we are.
Now, if we ever find patterns that demonstrate that things are actually not inter-related, it’s a bumpy ride but still a great one at it! Hope this can help your journey as well, and can’t thank you enough for listening.

Hi,
I’m Gabrielle, a fourth-year Environmental Studies student at University of Ottawa. My passion for the environment, sustainability and animal welfare started at a very young age. I strongly believe that when it comes to climate change, animal agriculture is a leading factor. While being vegan is a good way to end animal cruelty in factory farming, we also need to reflect on the issues of capitalism undermining animal welfare. In fact, we need to change the way we farm animals in a more sustainable and respectful way.
