Optional: Using Your Own Glazes

Want to use your own glazes or do part of the process at home? We’re happy to help!

Taking Your Bisque Home – You can purchase your unfinished bisque piece to take home, glaze it with your own materials, and bring it back for us to fire. Just make sure your glazes are cone 04-6 compatible so they’re safe for our kiln.

Bring Your Own Glazes to the Studio – If you have a glaze you’d like to use while painting here, feel free to bring it along! We will check that it’s kiln-safe before you begin.

Please note 

All pottery pieces are made to order based on the current capacity of our studio. Please allow up to two weeks for your items to be ready before coming in to paint. We’ll notify you as soon as your pieces are available! 

The price of each bisque piece already includes the firing cost, so there are no additional fees after you paint your piece.

Our studio is not temperature regulated. Conditions may vary depending on the weather, so we recommend dressing comfortably and appropriately for the season. 

If a themed class is being held at Studio 406, then it will be temperature regulated. The class will have a set theme, so you won’t need to pre-order your piece. 

These rates are designed to be affordable for local artists while still covering kiln costs and maintenance. Prices are subject to change.
