Yujing earned her Bachelor’s degree in English from the China University of Geosciences and a Master’s degree in Linguistics from Nankai University. Her research focuses on psycholinguistics, with a particular interest in language processing and its connection to cognitive processes. In her free time, she is also an amateur hip-hop dancer and choreographer.

Hanzhang earned her Bachelor's degree in Translation from Hong Kong Baptist University, followed by two Master's degrees in Linguistics from University College London and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Her research interests lie primarily in psycholinguistics, comparative syntax, and atypical language development. She enjoys photography, language learning, reading, still life drawing, and gardening.

Jiabei earned a B.A. in German from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and an M.A. in Communication from Hong Kong Baptist University. Leveraging her linguistic background, her research assistantship focused on emotion recognition development in infants and children. This practical work solidified her interest in the interplay of language, cognition, and affective processes during early social communication. Beyond academia, she enjoys R&B music and acrylic painting.

Yingqi earned a B.A. in Chinese Language and Literature from Guangzhou University and an M.A. in Linguistics from the University of Hong Kong. Her research focuses on corpus‐based language acquisition and syntactic structure analysis. Currently, she teaches at an EMI secondary school in Hong Kong and plans to further her expertise in this field. Outside of work, Yingqi enjoys playing the piano, archery, and traveling.

Yichen obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Translation from Hong Kong Baptist Uiversity and a Master’s degree in English Studies from the University of Hong Kong, specializing in Linguistics. The enriching training she has received from various disciplines ignited her curiosity to delve into how language, translation, and cognition intersect. She is currently doing her PhD in Translation at HKBU. In her free time, she likes hiking, playing table tennis and watching films.

Giselle is dedicated to exploring child language development. With a background in nutritional science and public health, holding both Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, her passion has guided her to pursue a second Master's degree in Speech Pathology at the same university. Beyond academic pursuits, Giselle is a proud mother of two sons. They have been a constant source of inspiration for her investigations into language and cognition.

Angeline is currently a secondary school teacher. She earned her degrees in English and Literature and Education from Hong Kong Baptist University. Her research interests include how adults memorize new words and signs, how children learn their first language and the role of sleep therewithin. Outside the lab, Angeline enjoys baking, scuba diving, listening to music, and sunbathing with her dog.

Leyan, with a background in Psychology from Hong Kong Baptist University and a master's degree in Guidance and Counselling from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, is passionate about exploring the neural mechanisms of human cognition using various neuro-imaging techniques. She loves music. And she has a soft spot for cats despite not owning one yet.

Ruoqi holds a B.A. in Advertising from Wuhan Institute of Technology and an M.A. in Communication from Hong Kong Baptist University. While working in the Lab, her profound passion for literature sharpened into a scholarly fascination with how language, cognition, and communication intertwine. Off campus she recharges on hiking trails and badminton courts, steadies her mind with calligraphy and piano. She also holds a passionate aspiration to welcome a pet dog into her life.

In her leisure time, she enjoys listening to English pop songs, decluttering, and travelling.
