Dahl Lab

We are a statistical genetics methodology group at UChicago in Genetic Medicine and Human Genetics.

We develop computational methods to discover and characterize genetic heterogeneity in complex diseases, including gene-environment interaction, epistasis, pleiotropy, and confounder correction. Long-term, we aim to use these tools to identify patient subtypes with distinct causal biology, clinical presentation, and treatment response. Our work uses tools from statistical genetics, functional genomics, and linear algebra. We apply these methods to study heterogeneity in a variety of complex biological systems, ranging from single cell genomics to major depressive disorder.

We are actively growing a fun and supportive research group. If you are interested in joining as a postdoc or student, please see Join the group!
