The Railway Inn is now the only ‘Inn’ in Ancaster. However this was not always the case and a number of other notable hostelries are known from the history of the village.

Not all of these pubs existed at the same time and it is possible that some of them may be the same establishment but under a different name. It is also possible there were other Inns and pubs that have been lost to the mists of time. For now these are the only establishments for which we have documentary evidence.
