From conception to delivery
“Aroma Palette” is a flower shop that allows customers to not only purchase already made bouquets, but to customize bouquets themselves. Average user age 16-50 years old. Most users are working adults. Aroma Palette’s goal is to satisfy each and every client with best bouquets.
Users want to be able to customize their bouquets orders to best suit them.
Adults often dont have time to customize bouquets. This feature must be easy and time saving.
The store might not have exact design of the bouquet that user wants, so this feature must allow users to send pictures of wanted design.
By conducting interviews, making empathy maps and conducting research i was able to select a primary user group - adults that order flower delivery online.
This user group pointed out that they want to see a customizable feature to select the flowers and design bouquets by themselves to make it more to their liking. Research helped me empathise with users and understand the problem better.
By mapping Anvars user journey i was able to find out the problems our users might face while using the website.
Taking the time to sketch iterations of each screen of the website on paper ensured that the elements that made it to digital wireframes would be well suited to address users pain points.
After finishing making a low fidelity prototype of a process of customizing and ordering a bouquet i have conducted a Usability study with 4 users. Each had different age, gender, race and sexuality to see the opinions of a more diverse group. I asked them to run through a few scenarios and comment on each step made. I also made sure to avoid bias and constructed a survey with questions like "How would you describe you felt during task No1?", "How would you rate this product?", "How would you describe this experience?" and etc.
I found out that most users wanted to change the design from cart instead of deleting it in cart and going back to choose the design.
Users have pointed out that it would be useful to see the delivery and payment information in the receipt after ordering and purchasing bouquet.
Keeping the feedback in mind i have added a feature to change design from the cart and added a button leading to it.
I have also altered the receipt page and added information on processed payment and delivery.
Later i realized that the pink color was chosen poorly and was not accessible to many users. It was too light and was barely visible. i had changed the color accordingly to better suit the user.
