Dialogues and Scriptwriting

Branching Dialogue Writing Sample - Sweet, Sweet Letters

Romantic Comedy | Branching Narrative | from MoonXrossed Princess, JRPG

In the extract below the player takes the actor's (meaning Meoro's) place in his own play. In order to make the dialogues meaningful and dynamic, they are only aware of a keyword (their dialogue option) that represents the poetic response to Tuleji's character. This also supports immersion as Miyuki is improvising and therefore doesn't have the time to think thoroughly about how to reply. On top of that, the dialogue options are timed, and the player may not answer at all, leaving Miyuki speechless in front of the audience.

Curator and Owner: Banter in Imperfection demo 1.0

Sci-Fi Drama (from an old version of Imperfection) | Branching banter

Curator, the robot that belongs to the protagonist, experiences complete disconnection from the web of data shared among the Robot units, finding most of them 'dormant', a status closest to clinically dead. Her confusion is meant to seem a human emotion, although the specific context and reaction is that of a machine programmed to react in a way we could understand or even relate to.
