In the extract below the player takes the actor's (meaning Meoro's) place in his own play. In order to make the dialogues meaningful and dynamic, they are only aware of a keyword (their dialogue option) that represents the poetic response to Tuleji's character. This also supports immersion, as Miyuki is improvising. On top of that, the dialogue options are timed, and the player may not answer at all, leaving Miyuki speechless in front of the audience.

United States, 1989. The player-character is Jack, a private eye investigating the disappearance of Clara Hudson: the girl has much in common with Helen Sully, whose unsolved case is now twenty years old. Jack gets his chance to talk to Finn Chaucer, the investigator who quit after trying to solve Helen Sully's case back in the day.

This dialogue grows in intensity and complexity the more its integral content is unlocked. Part I is the fertile ground for the three Saints' future conflicts, starting with an innocent question that carries so many implications. It is also a great example of the characters’ different personalities and ideology.
The video shows how the dialogue is related to the rest of the game: fight ends and a node is therefore completed, the characters can rest in the cafe where a new conversation has been unlocked following the player's success.
Clicking on the button below, you can find both the text of the dialogue, and a table that summarises the consistency between the characters’ inner journey and About the Nature of Deities.
