Record LC08.27m: Weaponized Care
Era: Reckoning Years (c. 2067–2074)
Classification: Epistemic Containment / Strategic Erosion
Definition: 'Weaponized Care' marked the perversion of radical relational ethics into tools of control. Across universities, hospitals, energy grids, and labor organizations, the language of care was appropriated to neutralize resistance. Seeded in disability justice and community movements, care was re-coded as compliance. Tactics included defunding care initiatives, enforcing a personal model of disability (success framed as individual merit, not systemic inequality), suppressing texts and teaching on care, surveilling affect via digital technologies to ensure self-regulation, and deploying anti-care protocols that cultivated silence.
