“I don’t remember when it started - only that travel stopped, meetings emptied, and the urgency began to rot at the edges. Some raced the academic treadmill until their bodies gave out. Others fled into gardens, forests, stories (or what was still left of them)... Without the hum of metrics, we felt our bodies again: aching, alive, still breathing. We never knew if we were resisting or simply decaying alongside the institution. But at least we were no longer accelerating the collapse.”
