About the course

Motivation behind the course

The course came about as a necessity to fill the market niche of English for Marketing specialists. Due to a vocabulary and skills-rich Market Leader materials, there is an evident lack of communicative tasks, which could facilitate the implementation of the covered grammatical structures and vocabulary items. Therefore, it was decided to incorporate podcasts with a huge linguodidactic potential into the educational process as authentic materials in business sphere to prepare the ground for students' discussions on the covered in the podcasts topics.

Pillars of the course

The course is based on the following principles: indirect teaching of grammar; encouraging the generation of original expressions instead of simple manipulation of linguistic means; teaching the analysis of linguistic expressions of communication participants; using appropriate speech styles in various communicative situations; research of book material (not reproduction) to generate independent output.
