The R&D activity of Ana Estanqueiro has been focused in the area of Renewable Energies, mainly in the integration of Wind Energy - and other renewable generation variable in time - in the grid and the electric power system.
Throughout her research career she has dedicated himself to research in the area of Wind Energy and Renewable Energies, in a comprehensive way, developing R&D projects, promoting the development of the renewable sector, from the construction of resources atlases, and wind potential databases, to the development of methodologies for planning the use of distributed renewable sources (wind and photovoltaic) and the design and construction of micro-turbines.
Her recent research interest and projects also address the negotiation and increase of value of variable renewable generation (wind and PV) through the design of new electricity markets and products.
