In this project, we were finding different types of digital media on a website called Creative Commons. The link leads you to the search engine, where you can find what you're looking for. Below, I'll share my examples for an image, a video, an audio, and an animation.

I found this by searching "English Cottage" on the Creative Commons website. It took me to Google Images, which then took me to Wikipedia Commons.
I downloaded the file from Wikipedia Commons. It is under the CC BY-SA 2.O license, which means anyone can use it - for sharing in any medium, and they can add to it, as long as they still follow the rules of attribution and redistribution:
If it is changed, you have to indicate that you've changed it and provide a link to the license
You can't use it for commercial purposes
This is a youtube video I downloaded and made into an mp3. Its a song from Celtic Woman that is under UMG records
℗ 2007 Celtic Woman Ltd., under exclusive license to Manhattan Records
This is an example of embedded video. Its from one of my favorite DIY creators, Rachel Maksy, where she turns her sewing room into a Hobbit hole!
The only thing I could find was the embed code, which Youtube offered up, but I couldn't find any licensing information.
This is an animated gif from the website pixabay. I downloaded it onto my computer and uploaded it as an image.
It is under Pixabay's content license. Subject to the Prohibited Uses, the Content License allows users to:
✓ Use Content for free
✓ Use Content without having to attribute the author (although giving credit is always appreciated by our community!)
✓ Modify or adapt Content into new work
I learned about licensing and digital ethics, a lot of which I hadn't entirely considered before. Of course, I considered things like copying and plagiarizing, or crediting/citing something when you use it, but I didn't think of using AI, for example, as a way to make more money. I didn't use any of the websites to make any digital media, but I did look through them and watched some tutorials. I'll use them in the future, hopefully!
