Get Ahead Overview

The Amerigo Get Ahead program provides students the opportunity to remain domestically in the United States over the summer in an environment that is both safe and familiar for them. The health and safety of our students is Amerigo’s top priority and we have designed a program that will provide enrichment opportunities while taking into account the circumstance surrounding the coronavirus pandemic. While the planned schedule of activities anticipates in-person coursework and group activities, the coursework will move to a virtual/online environment should the pandemic not subside.

This year, the program is offered at two Amerigo campuses:

Amerigo Chicago North Shore

June 1- 26 and July 6-July 31

Amerigo Los Angeles

June 15 - July 31

*Dates may vary based on academic scheduling. Program start and end times are also flexible based on the student’s needs

Get Ahead Program Highlights

Students will spend their mornings diving further into academics, attending for-credit university preparatory courses at Amerigo high schools

College essay writing workshops will be offered, where students will advance their writing skills and strengthen their applications to top U.S. universities

Students will meet with admissions representatives and tour the campuses of top U.S. universities, including University of Chicago, UCLA, Northwestern University, and more

Through additional school visits, class prep and more, students will expand upon their Amerigo University Advantage preparation

Students have the chance to participate in hands-on community service projects, helping to improve the community while also boosting their university applications

Students will live alongside other program participants and Amerigo staff members in the residences, with amenities including a swimming pool, fitness center and more

Save your spot in the program by filling out the form below and submitting the $2,000 deposit to Amerigo by the April 15 deadline

Receive a decision within 3-5 business days

Complete full payment by the April 30 deadline

Get Ahead Program Details

Program Dates: June 1-26 and June 29-July 24 for Amerigo Chicago North Shore, June 15-July 31 for Amerigo Los Angeles
Application Deadline: April 15, due with deposit
Cost: $1,250 per week, $2,000 deposit
