The Instructor – Anna Maria
My name is Anna Maria Bertini. I was born and raised in Rome, a city where history, art, and daily life are inseparable.
I completed my "Laurea" in Medieval Art History at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" and my graduate studies in Teaching Italian as a Second Language (Master ITALS) at the University of Venice “Ca’ Foscari”.
Since 2001, I have been living in the United States with my family, while continuing to travel to Italy several times a year. I never tire of exploring and photographing my country, always discovering new details to share with my students.
I have over 20 years of experience teaching Italian as a foreign language, including 10 years as a college instructor at Franklin and Marshall College. Today, I teach Italian through online live classes for adults, creating a relaxed and supportive learning environment.
My teaching brings together conversation, grammar, and cultural insight: art, history, food and everyday life. I especially enjoy helping students reconnect with their family’s linguistic heritage or prepare for meaningful travel experiences in Italy.
Learning Italian is an endless journey, and I am happy to share it with my students!
