How We Work Together

All our classes are  live and online

All levels -   Age:  16 years old and up

Our live online Italian classes

Our online Italian classes are taught live on Zoom, allowing you to learn from anywhere while maintaining the interaction and rhythm of a traditional classroom.

From the very first lesson, you are encouraged to start speaking Italian, at your own pace, in a safe and supportive environment where making mistakes are part of the learning process. Classes are live and interactive (not recorded) and include real-time conversation, group interaction, and immediate feedback.

Lessons follow a clear and well-structured progression, with a strong focus on conversation. Students are encouraged to use the language in realistic contexts. Grammar is first observed in context and discussed later, both in class and at home. Rules are clarified gradually, in a calm and intuitive way, with plenty of practical examples.

All materials, including handouts and assignments, are shared digitally. Screen sharing allows for clear explanations of grammar, vocabulary, and cultural topics. Most new vocabulary introduced during class is saved and sent to students after each session. Occasional short writing assignments  are reviewed and corrected with personal feedback from the instructor.

Why live classes?

Learning a language is not just about watching or listening — it is about interaction, rhythm, and human connection. Live lessons allow you have linguistic and cultural feedback when something is unclear and to practice real conversation, so you can see that what you study during the week truly works. Attendance is essential. It’s only one hour a week, but it’s where the magic happens—when Italian is practiced, shared, and experienced together.

Unlike self-paced or recorded courses, live classes follow a shared learning path. The same instructor works with the same small group over time, creating continuity and trust. This is especially important for adult learners who may feel shy or hesitant at the beginning. Learning and collaborating within a steady group helps confidence grow naturally, making it easier to speak, make mistakes, and progress together.

The Role of the Classroom, compared to Self-Study and New Technologies

In today’s learning environment, students have access to a wide range of tools, including apps, online resources, and new technologies like AI. These tools can be extremely useful when used thoughtfully, but they do not replace the role of the classroom.

AI and digital tools can support language learning and, although not always accurate, they are useful for reviewing, clarifying, practicing, and experimenting with language outside of class. However, they have clear limits.

AI interaction lacks the urgency and negotiation that characterize real-life communication. It does not require learners to react quickly, adjust their language under pressure, or reformulate when something does not work.

Another crucial aspect to consider is that communication is never purely verbal: it is shaped by cultural norms, implicit expectations, tone, gesture, proximity, and social context. These elements are essential to meaning and can only be learned through real human interaction.

For this reason, AI cannot replace the selective pedagogical guidance of a native teacher or the lived experience of speaking with another person. These elements are essential for building confidence and true human communicative competence.
