Paddington bear
Paddington is the name of an English train station...so, what's the connection with a toy bear?
On Christmas Eve in 1956, the writer Michael Bond was waiting for his train at Paddington station to go back home. While waiting, he saw a toy bear in a shop and bought it for his wife. He called the bear Paddington just because of that train station. Bond later wrote a series of stories inspired to an abandoned bear at a train station looking for a home.
