Assalamu Alaikum (Peace be upon you)

I am Alvi Islam Ratul (he/him), an undergraduate Computer Science student from Bangladesh. Growing up in the Global South, I have experienced both the potential and the limitations of technology in contexts shaped by constrained resources and unequal access. These experiences led me to Human-Centered Computing, including Human–Computer Interaction and Human–AI Interaction, where I explore how digital systems can be designed to be accessible, intuitive, and ethically grounded. I am particularly interested in Usable Security and Privacy, focusing on how people understand and navigate safety and risk in everyday used technology. Alongside this, my interest in ICT for Development drives me to study how technology can support inclusion, empowerment, and sustainable impact when designed in close collaboration with communities. Through my work, I hope to contribute research and design practices that help bridge digital divides in the Global South and beyond.
