I am curious about how people make sense of AI systems and how those systems, in turn, shape human decision-making, social life, trust, and autonomy. My interest in Human–AI Interaction examines how ethical considerations—such as fairness, accountability, and power can be meaningfully embedded into the design and use of AI systems. I explore how everyday users interpret AI behavior and how design can support meaningful human control instead of passive dependence.
Through HCI, I study how people interact with technology in their daily lives and how social, cultural, and contextual factors influence those interactions. I am particularly interested in understanding mismatches between designers’ assumptions and users’ lived experiences. By applying human-centered and participatory design methods, I aim to create interfaces and systems that feel intuitive, respectful, and grounded in real-world practices.
My work in usable security and privacy examines how people understand risk, make security decisions, and navigate trade-offs between convenience and protection. Rather than treating users as the weakest link, I approach security as a design problem shaped by usability, context, and access to information. I seek to develop privacy- and security-enhancing solutions that align with how people actually think and behave, reducing harm without increasing burden.
I am motivated by the potential of ICT to support social and economic development when designed with care and inclusivity. My interest in ICT4D lies in creating technologies that are accessible, culturally sensitive, and responsive to local needs, particularly in under-resourced settings. By working closely with communities especially marginalized, I aim to ensure that digital interventions amplify local voices, strengthen agency, and contribute to sustainable, long-term impact.
