I am Mashiyat Mahjabin Eshita from Bangladesh. I am currently pursuing my PhD in Informatics at UL Lafayette, under the supervision of Dr. Tamanna Motahar, and I am a member of the Tech4All Lab now. My academic and research interests lie broadly in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), accessibility, usable privacy and security, and the ways technology can better support people and communities.

My previous research has primarily explored two areas:

-Social Media and Well-being: Investigating the effects, challenges, and gaps in social media use and exploring how technology can better support individual and collective well-being.

-Usable Privacy and Security: Exploring the intersection of cybersecurity and HCI to understand how people interact with privacy and security technologies and how these systems can become more usable and accessible.

My previous work has been published and presented at venues including IEEE Xplore, SOUPS, CHI, and USENIX Security. Also, I was a part of the Computing for Sustainability and Social Good (C2SG) Research Group directed by Dr. Jannatun Noor Mukta. As I continue my PhD, I am interested in exploring new research directions within HCI and related areas, particularly those that address real-world challenges and have meaningful impacts on people’s lives. Outside of research, I enjoy exploring new ideas, learning new things, and following whatever happens to catch my curiosity.
