Date: 9th August 2021 (1st session) & 10th August 2021 (2nd session)

Time: 2.30 pm

Platform: Cisco Webex Meeting

USM Audiology Alumni Society has organized an event entitled: Audiologist Work-Life Sharing in collaboration with Audiology Programme, School of Health Sciences for the undergraduate Audiology Students in USM. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, this event was conducted via online (Cisco Webex meeting).

This event was held in two sessions whereby the first session involved the Alumni representative from the government and the university sector (Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education), while the second session involved the audiologist working at private hospital (KPJ Hospital) and the hearing aid centres (Dengar Hearing Care Centre & Audiolab Hearing).

The objective of this event was to help undergraduates to understand the job market of this profession and to gain a better understanding of what it takes to be an audiologist by filling in the gaps in their knowledge. Furthermore, this event acts as a platform for alumni members to develop their interpersonal relationships and collaborate with others.

Both sessions have attracted a total of 67 students and alumni representatives. This event was a great success for the participants, especially the undergraduate Audiology students. We believe that by participating in these sharing sessions, they have gained more information and direction in their career route after graduation.
