Maria L. Loureiro
Maria Loureiro is full professor at the Department of Economics at University of Santiago de Compostela. She got her Phd from the Washington State University (USA). She returned to the University of Santiago de Composela via the Ramón y Cajal Program. Previously, she has been a professor at Colorado State University (USA) and at the Carlos III University of Madrid. Her fields of specialization are agricultural economics, environmental economics and health economics.
She is PI of the ECO-IURIS research group of the University of Santiago de Compostela, included in the catalogue of competitive reference research groups of the Xunta de Galicia. So far she has been the Phd advisor for 5 doctoral dissertations with Outstanding Cum Laude, more than 10 final degree projects and she has participated in numerous research projects, both national and international; so far she is involved in three international proyects MyCOAST, CleanAtlantic y EPyRIS.
Regarding the transfer of knowledge, her work of valuation of environmental impacts has been used in the process of claiming damages caused by the Prestige oil spill, being presented as an economic expert testimony by the Environmental Prosecutor of Galicia in 2013.
As regards academic services, she has been Secretary of the International Doctorate School (EDI) of the University of Santiago de Compostela, from 2014 to 2016, Advisor to the Vicerrector of Research and Internationalization, Director of the Ph.D Program of Economics in Santiago de Compostela since 2012 and of the Interuniversitary Ph.D. Program of Economic Analysis and Business Strategy since 2014. Also, she is an ordinary member of EAERE between January 2018 – December 2021 and currently EAERE Vice-President in year 2019
Maria Alló
Faculty of Economic Sciences
Maria Alló is a Doctor in Economics, with Outstanding Cum-Laude and Extraordinary Award, from the University of Santiago de Compostela since March 2015. Since 2009 she has been working on research projects framed in environmental economics. External researcher collaborating in the Eco-Iuris Group.
She is currently an Assistant Professor Doctor at the University of Coruña.
