The Alto Minho Intermunicipal Community, also known as CIM Alto Minho, was established on October 15, 2008.
Alto Minho's founding purpose is to make Alto Minho “a space of environmental excellence with the capacity to develop a new combination of tourism resources and activities, renewable energies, business reception and the provision of quality and modern proximity services, which respond to the challenges of competitiveness, cohesion and sustainability ”.
Its main tasks are to promote the planning and management of the economic, social and environmental development strategy of the territory concerned; articulation of municipal investments of inter-municipal interest; participation in the management of regional development support programs; planning of the actions of public entities, of a supra-municipal character.
ECO-IURIS was born in 2014 and is an interdisciplinary and interdepartmental group within the University of Santiago de Compostela; thus, it includes professors from two different disciplines, economics and law. The group's mission is to carry out research and consultancy using the latest legal and economic techniques.
