After mulitple meetings, on July 14, 2014, a vote was conducted and it was elected to run the parent organization of Altamont Elementary School as a PTA. A PTA Steering committee was formed to help establish the PTA and a core group of the Steering committee met with the District PTA representative for approval. On July 31, 2014, a PTA Charter meeting was held and the first PTA Board was elected and the by-laws were signed. Altamont Elementary School opened it's doors August 2014.
Today, our PTA is still working hard. It is a registered tax-exempt 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

Our Executive Board is made up of parent volunteers. To be a board member, you must have a student attending Altamont Elementary School and be an active paid PTA member. Positions are held for one year at a time with a two year limit per position held. Each position is nominated and voted on by current, active, paid PTA members.
