At that time his father, Charles, was a Raquet Maker. (It's possible his father worked at the Slazenger racket factory at 64 Woodrow, Woolwich). The address of 47 Whitworth Road on the baptism record is probably correct, and the address of Whitworth Place on the CWGC certificate is probably an error.
