Leonard Edmonds was baptised at All Saints Church in Plumstead on Sunday 11 October 1891. The baptism record gives his date of birth as 11 September 1891.
Leonard was the youngest of three children. He had a brother James, and a sister Lilian. When he was born, the family were living at 67 Herbert Road, Plumstead. In 1911 they were living at 73 Herbert Road, Leonard's father died after him, on 15 November 1918.
The Probate records show:
"EDMONDS Leonard of 242 Burrage Road Plumstead Kent lieutenant Royal West Kent regiment died 3 November 1917 in Palestine Administration London 28 January to Sarah Edmonds widow.Effects £148 18s 6d,"
