I do not believe in the possibility of being a perfect teacher. There is always ways for improvement especially since as educators, we will always be getting new students each of which comes with their own personalities, learning styles, abilities, et cetera. At such, I believe that I have to consistently make the effort to learn right throughout my journey in order to hone my craft. As such, I consistently participate in professional development both internal as stipulated by my institution or on my own.
Currently enrolled in a Masters Program which I should complete by August 2025 and graduate by December 2025.
I believe in always learning new things. So once I see an oppurtunity to learn I take it even if it is not pertaining to my job description. My motto: "You may never know how these things might come in handy one day!"
This professional development session was aimed at to deepening educators' understanding of differentiated instruction, emphasizing its role in meeting diverse student needs through varied teaching methods. It addressed common misconceptions, such as the belief that differentiation requires individualized lesson plans or that it involves grouping students solely by ability. The training highlighted the importance of flexible grouping strategies based on students' readiness, interests, and learning profiles, rather than fixed ability levels. Through practical strategies and reflective discussions, teachers were equipped to implement effective differentiation practices that foster an inclusive and dynamic learning environment.
This professional development session was particular interested as it focused on teachers using their different talents to work together to achieve certain tasks that seems impossible at first. It was fun and informative.
Mr. Leo Gilling. He is the chairman of the JDTAN that hosted the summit for teachers.
This summit was done in Florida at the Florida Atlantic University and was for the duration of 4 days. We were taught/retaught many things pertaining to teaching and learning, with the main theme being reigniting the passion for education and mental health.
Making a presentation about how I would organize my classroom to maximize learning at the JDTAN summit!
I met several teachers! I still keep in touch with these three!
I attended a workshop on differentiated instruction! This was on November 8, 2024.
I obtained a certification in First Aid previously. If I get the opportunity to, I will recertify because I believe since I am working with students mainly between 12-19, this certification is necessary. Adult is considered to be from 12 upwards for this training.
