Learning In Action
Learning In Action
I rarely have learning-in-action photos for my teacher portfolio because I am deeply focused on teaching and fully engaged with my students during lessons. I prioritize being present in the classroom, which often means that I do not use my phone during class time. In fact, there are many occasions when I leave my phone securely in my department office to minimize distractions. While this approach supports a focused learning environment, it sometimes means I miss opportunities to capture those dynamic teaching moments on camera.
Students were placed in groups and were given nets of solids to find the Total surface area. They had to use the rulers in order to find the measurements of the necessary dimensions and then use what the concept of Total Surface Area(TSA) in order to find the TSA of different solids. They were introduced to TSA and how to find the TSA of Cubes only. They explored in their groups how to find the TSA of different solids and to come up with a formula to find the TSA for these solids. They then did a presentation to the class re what they found out. I went around to each group and guided them where necessary.
