My tree workshop aims to teach people about different coniferous evergreen trees and how to identify them. (I also touch a bit on fire adaptations where appropriate 😄)

I start each workshop with a small lesson on the taxonomy of coniferous trees, followed by a brief interactive session where I explain how to tell the difference between different genuses and families of coniferous trees, and different observations + measurements to make to identify different species. The remainder of the time is then spent allowing participants to identify mystery tree samples to their profile in a "Field Notes" booklet, which is what is linked below.

  • If professional printing is not within budget, you can use this amazing website to lay out the pages for printing the booklets using a normal color printer (you will have to staple the center yourself though).

• Rulers

• Pens or pencils

• Data recording sheet

• Ziploc bags

• Samples of all trees in booklet version

• Tables and chairs
