About Us

Al-Huda High School is part of the broader Dar-Us-Salaam community, which is located deep in the city of College Park. We serve the educational, social, and financial needs of the Muslim community in the Greater Washington D.C Metropolitan area. Under the Dar-Us-Salaam umbrella, we have a charity foundation, an accredited pre-school to high school, a part-time and full time Qur’an Hifz (Memorization) school, a social service office, a publishing branch, a medical practice, a newspaper, an Islamic Information Center for non-Muslims, and a karate dojo. Al-Huda Elementary, Middle and High school are accredited by the Middle States Association. The 500+ students enrolled at Al-Huda School are culturally diverse with a population that is approximately 47% African/African American, 21% Arab, 25% Asian, 7% Caucasian/Other.

Al-Huda High school is a college preparatory four-year private Muslim high school enrolling over 120 students in grades 9 through 12. The high school classes are separated based on gender with an average student to teacher ratio of 15:1. Since most of our students are classified as underrepresented especially in advanced placement programs, our small classroom size allows teachers the ability to address student weaknesses and strengths. Al-Huda High school opened in 2007, with the first senior class graduating in spring 2011. The high school was re-accredited from the Middle States Association Committee on Institution Wide Accreditation in December 2015.

AP® courses are taken by all Al-Huda High School students in their 11th and 12th grade year. We offer AP® U.S. Government, AP® English Language & Composition, AP® Calculus AB, AP® Biology and most newly added, AP Computer Science Principles.

Over half a million in scholarships were awarded to our students in the past decade, with acceptances to such prestigious colleges as Illinois Institute of Technology, Loyola University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), University of Maryland College Park, University of Maryland Baltimore County, Virginia Tech, Temple University, American University, Penn State, Bowie State University, George Washington University, and Duke Universities.
