College Applications

Here you will find your "Road Map" to reaching your destination: College!

Freshman

  1. Register at www.collegeboard.com.

  2. Study for the PSAT.

  3. Take challenging classes.

  4. Get good grades in school. Strive for a GPA of 3.5 or better!

  5. Participate in extracurricular activities.

  6. Complete your 25 hours of community service.

  7. Meet with your college counselor.


Sophomores and Juniors

  1. Study for the PSAT and SAT. Juniors should take SAT in May/June. Sophomores will take PSAT in October.

  2. Get good grades and take challenging classes.

  3. Complete your 75 hours of internship. (Get an account on Naviance)

  4. Complete your community service hours if you haven't already.

  5. Begin writing your college essay.

  6. Look for colleges you want to attend.

  7. Take the Chemistry or US History in 10th grade, OR Bio and Math 1 in 11th grade SAT subject tests in June.

  8. Build and submit a resume of experiences to your college counselor.

Remember: Junior year is your most important one!!!

Seniors

  1. Complete your internship and community service hours.

  2. Take the ACT in September.

  3. Take the October SAT.

  4. Meet with your college counselor.

  5. Get an account on Naviance.

  6. Complete Early Action applications for your colleges of choice. November 1 deadline.

  7. Attend all college counseling workshops you can.

  8. Apply to FAFSA by February 14.

  9. Do well in your AP classes.

  10. Take the AP Exams in May.

  11. Reply with your acceptances by May.
