Tuckshop
Welcome to 2025! The Algester State School P&C Association Tuckshop has a long history of supplying nutritious food and tasty snacks for students and staff.
Did you know?... In the 1980s a paper bag system was used at our school whereby parents would write the lunch order on the front of a brown paper bag and enclose money for payment. The order would be filled and returned in the same bag with any change taped to the front of the bag.
Nowadays, the system is more sophisticated using an online debit system called 'MunchMonitor'.

Algester is a cashless school so a MunchMonitor account is required to order from the tuckshop.
MunchMonitor is now open for 2025 orders.
You will have to update your child's class to proceed. See our handy guide on how to do this.
More general information is below.

MunchMonitor is a debit system that allows you to give your child the independence (and treat!) of buying a snack from the tuckshop window at break time.
To enable this, you will have to set up 'snack money' within your MunchMonitor account.
See the guide on how to do this.
There are two (2) options:
Will allow you to set specific day(s) and amounts for spending
Will allow you to set an overall limit for the week. Your child can purchase on any day but when the allowance for the week is spent, that's it
Pantry Drive
Part of the way we keep costs down is to rely on volunteers in the tuckshop. What we also know is that not every family is available to assist this way.
So in 2025 we are introducing Pantry Drive.
Q: What is Pantry Drive?
A: It's a call out for families to donate non-perishable items to the tuckshop pantry
Q: What sort of things would be donated?
A: Listed tinned/bottled food and other items that the tuckshop uses on a regular basis. See the list opposite for examples
Q: When do we bring the items in?
The pantry drive starts on 10th March and will run for four (4) weeks.
So, if you're out and about at the shops and you can pop a spare packet of spaghetti or a tin of beetroot in the trolley for us, that would be much appreciated!
Items needed in the tuckshop pantry drive:
Dry goods like packets of spaghetti, pasta, mild taco seasoning
Sauces like tomato sauce, BBQ sauce, pasta sauce (no spices), maple syrup
Long life milk
Tinned goods like pineapple slices, black beans, sliced beetroot, crushed/diced tomatoes
Supplementary items like rolls of baking paper, cling wrap or alfoil
More information about where to drop off items coming soon

29.1.25 - Collection of ice-blocks
Ice blocks can be ordered as part of the daily food order
For prep students, their ice blocks are delivered to the classroom. Prep students are not permitted to come to the tuckshop window during breaks
Students in years 1-6 are to bring their tuckshop bag to the window at either first or second break to collect their iceblock
Important! If children accidentally lose or throw away their tuckshop bag - don't panic. They can come to the window anyway and the order will be verified through the Munch Monitor system. This will take a bit longer but will ensure kids get their order
How to contact the tuckshop
Use for non-urgent enquiries where a later-that-day or next-day reply is ok. For example, enquiring about booking a birthday cake order or nominating to volunteer for an hour or two. Our email address is: tuckshop@algesterpandc.com.au
PHONE
When you call the school number (07 3712 5111), there is an option on the recorded directory menu to be transferred to the tuckshop. This is currently out of order. Speak to the admin team and ask to be transferred.
Use phone for contacting us if you need information about a same-day lunch order or you've realised you missed the daily order cut off of 8:30am. If you've missed the cut-off we'll accommodate where we can
Note that the tuckshop is busiest between 10am and 11:30am each day as this is when daily orders and window sales are being processed for on-time service to all year levels. We may not be able to take your call during these hours
As a reminder, all tuckshop ordering is online via Munch Monitor. This is a debit system - so you must have funds in your account - and is due by 8:30am for same day lunch delivery. This is a change from last year when it was 9am. The MunchMonitor system automatically cuts off at 8:30am - so it cannot accept orders past 8:30am
General info about the tuckshop
A MunchMonitor account is required for online ordering (School ID = algesterss > school password = munch4115)
Online ordering uses a debit system - you must have sufficient funds in your account to submit your order and have it processed
