Tuckshop

Welcome to 2025! The Algester State School P&C Association Tuckshop has a long history of supplying nutritious food and tasty snacks for students and staff.

Did you know?... In the 1980s a paper bag system was used at our school whereby parents would write the lunch order on the front of a brown paper bag and enclose money for payment. The order would be filled and returned in the same bag with any change taped to the front of the bag.

Nowadays, the system is more sophisticated using an online debit system called 'MunchMonitor'.

Using Munch Monitor to Order from Tuckshop.pdf

Algester is a cashless school so a MunchMonitor account is required to order from the tuckshop.

MunchMonitor is now open for 2025 orders.

You will have to update your child's class to proceed. See our handy guide on how to do this.

More general information is below.

Setting Spending Allowances on Munch Monitor.pdf

MunchMonitor is a debit system that allows you to give your child the independence (and treat!) of buying a snack from the tuckshop window at break time.

To enable this, you will have to set up 'snack money' within your MunchMonitor account.

See the guide on how to do this.

There are two (2) options:

Pantry Drive

Part of the way we keep costs down is to rely on volunteers in the tuckshop. What we also know is that not every family is available to assist this way.

So in 2025 we are introducing Pantry Drive.

Q: What is Pantry Drive?

A: It's a call out for families to donate non-perishable items to the tuckshop pantry

Q: What sort of things would be donated?

A: Listed tinned/bottled food and other items that the tuckshop uses on a regular basis. See the list opposite for examples

Q: When do we bring the items in?

The pantry drive starts on 10th March and will run for four (4) weeks.

So, if you're out and about at the shops and you can pop a spare packet of spaghetti or a tin of beetroot in the trolley for us, that would be much appreciated!

As a reminder, all tuckshop ordering is online via Munch Monitor. This is a debit system - so you must have funds in your account - and is due by 8:30am for same day lunch delivery.  This is a change from last year when it was 9am. The MunchMonitor system automatically cuts off at 8:30am - so it cannot accept orders past 8:30am

General info about the tuckshop

The tuckshop is operated by a paid convenor and assistant and supported with volunteers. New volunteers are always welcome and simple tasks help greatly - no cooking required! Here's some examples of easy-to-complete volunteer tasks that are a fantastic help to the tuckshop:
