Executive Roles
These positions are executive roles in accordance with the P&C QLD Constitution as issued by Education QLD. These vital roles provide support for the operation, financial, human resources and business activity of the Algester State School P&C Association. These roles are responsible for driving the strategy and planning of the P&C, working closely with school executives and administrators to deliver outcomes for students.
Secretary – Administration
*Executive role
Average 3 hrs / week
Maintain attendance records and register of ex-officio and life members.
Prepare agenda for each meeting.
Record Minutes of P&C meetings at each general meeting and AGM.
Manage P&C electronic correspondence.
Preserve information pertaining to activities of the P&C.
Secretary – Operations & Funding
*Executive role
Average 3 hrs / week
Create communication plan.
Develop general P&C communications.
Oversee communication activity by P&C Team members.
Provide guidance to P&C Team for event & sponsor promotional activity.
Source and apply for suitable grants on behalf of the P&C.
Treasurer
*Executive role
Average 4 hrs / week
Keep accurate records of receipts and expenditure.
Supply a statement of finance to the meeting.
Signatory for all financial obligations.
Prepare an annual statement, which must be audited.
Promptly bank all monies received in the appropriate accounts.
Payroll for five P&C staff
Vice President
*Executive role
Average 4 hrs / week
Management of P&C Staff, team members and volunteers.
Provide support and assist the President in operational duties.
Support Treasurer, Secretary and Committee Members as required.
Act as a representative of the P&C (where President is unable to attend).
Preside over meetings in the President’s absence and carry out any duties
President

Average 10 hrs / week
Provide leadership.
Act as a representative of the P&C (where required).
Ensure open communications between P&C and school/ community.
Signatory for all financial obligations.
Management of P&C Staff, team members and volunteers.
Preside over every meeting of the Association in which they are present
Non-Executive Roles
These roles provide support for the P&C Association activities. Each role makes a vital contribution toward the overall aims of the P&C; helping our Association to deliver outcomes for the students of Algester State School. Fundraising and Events Committee Chair

Support P&C Fundraising activities with your knowledge and skills.
Contribute ideas and information for current and new activities.
Make decisions on activities and provide guidance on implementation.
Provide support to P&C Fundraising team.
Report to P&C Executive Team and Monthly General Meetings.
Multifest Committee Chair

Provide guidance and leadership toMultifest with committee members.
Preside over Multifest meetings.
Make decisions on activities and provide guidance.
Assist P&C Team members and school (as required).

The Shade Project Chair

Provide guidance and leadership to The Shade Project Committee with committee members.
Preside over The Shade Project committee meetings.
Do research, make decisions on activities and delegate tasks (as required).
Assist P&C Team members and school (as required).
Report to P&C Executive Team and Monthly General Meetings.
P&C Qld Representative

Represent our P&C Association at the P&C QLD Council meetings.
Provide reports to our P&C Executives and committee at monthly meetings.
Advise important notifications from P&C QLD Council to our P&C Executives.
Grants Coordinator

Average 6-8 hrs / month
Research suitable grants on behalf of the P&C.
Contribute ideas and information for grant applications (where relevant).
Make decisions on activities and provide guidance on implementation.
Provide support to Secretary – Operations & Funding for grant activity.
Cultural Celebration Program Chair
*Great supporting role
Average 5 hrs / month
Provide guidance and leadership over The Cultural Celebration Committee with committee members to celebrate cultures from across the world.
Preside over the Cultural Celebration committee meetings.
Do research, make decision on the activities and delegate tasks (as required)
Assist P&C Team members and school (as required).
Report to P&C Executive Team and monthly General Meetings
Breakfast Club Committee Chair
*Great supporting role
Average 5 hrs / month
Provide guidance and leadership over The Breakfast Club Committee with committee members to celebrate cultures from across the world.
Preside over the Breakfast Club committee meetings.
