Leadership for Hire

At Deloitte, one of my most distinctive engagements involved serving as the acting chief of staff for one of the nation's largest health insurers. In such cases, clients occasionally require an extra set of on-site eyes, and Deloitte deploys a top-performing individual who can work independently within their organization. In this role, I provided a forward-looking perspective and organizational framework to keep the executive ahead of the curve. 

During this assignment, I gained an in-depth understanding of the day-to-day operations of the organization's IT division (~9,000 headcount). I fostered strong client relationships, developed executive presentation materials to update stakeholders, and provided additional project support related to driving timeline alignment, addressing blockers, and coordinating necessary teams.

Advancing the Future of Manufacturing

I spent 4 months at Deloitte's Smart Factory @ Wichita - an immersive, fully functioning factory where we take our manufacturing clients on a walkthrough of Industry 4.0. During this time, I focused on developing and strengthening relationships with over 20 of our most important technology partners that enable us to make this experience possible for our clients.

A Crash Course Into M&A

During my first 17 months at Deloitte, I was dedicated to M&A engagements, covering the entire deal cycle. This encompassed activities such as target screening, refining letters of intent, conducting due diligence, negotiating purchase prices, finalizing deals, and planning for integration. My experience spanned regional health systems, an academic medical center, and a national health retailer. 

My role included strategic analysis, data visualization to bolster deal value propositions and address regulatory concerns, facilitation of workshops, and the development of polished presentations to support our recommendations.

Proposals and Sales Pursuits

One of my greatest strengths lies in delivering concise, compelling messages that resonate with our prospective clients. 

Coupled with my skill in crafting elegant presentations, I became a trusted resource for designing over a dozen proposal and oral presentation decks for firm leaders on critical pursuits. 

Additionally, I dedicated significant effort to curating and refining our best-in-class materials and qualifications, enabling our practice to efficiently leverage existing resources for new projects.

NCSU Recruiting

I have a passion for empowering students to reach their full potential and soon after joining Deloitte, I took on a leadership role in recruiting. 

My candidate tracking team implemented an efficient QR code system for event check-ins and colleague feedback on student interactions. This streamlined our ability to gauge student engagement throughout the recruiting process, provided quantitative insights on their interactions at events, and enhanced our selection process for interviews and exclusive recruiting events.

Pivoting Under a 'New Normal' 

The COVID-19 pandemic severely limited travel and regular business operations, transforming what was initially intended as a ten-week internship in Charlotte into a two-week virtual experience. 

Despite these challenges, Deloitte's internship team put forth tremendous effort to facilitate virtual networking, informative sessions, and guest speaker events, including one featuring Geoff Tuff - a renowned writer on growth through innovation.
