Your IDEA-L Job: Identifying Your Best Fit…

Read the job descriptions fully. Many jobs have multiple responsibilities and requirements. We want you to feel comfortable and confident in the positions that you have decided to apply for. Reading through the job descriptions, especially the qualifications, will give you a clearer understanding of the role you want to pursue.
If you are certified, apply for positions that are within your certification area. If not, apply for positions that align with your content knowledge or strengths.
Identify positions that have a level of rigor or content depth that align to your experience - professionally or academically.
If you are applying for a position that a recruiter may have said is highly competitive, consider applying for an additional position that aligns to your background and skills.
When you're in doubt about selecting positions to apply, prioritize your passion along with skills and content knowledge. Remember - IDEA values the quality of your application. All applications will be reviewed and if we feel you may be a better fit for another position, we will consider you for that too.
Once application is submitted and approved, there's no need to submit another application for the same level or position - we will use the previously submitted application to determine your advancement. We consider what you are best fit to teach/do and use content knowledge or experience to identify aligned candidates.

Resume Tips:

Include your GPA, generally if it's above a 3.0, include it.
Where ever you can, include data and numbers that demonstrate your impact on the work numerically. Articulate the growth and results with numbers.
Double check to ensure you listed your most recent jobs/employment first. Employment experience should be listed in reverse chronological order.
Include the most relevant work experience/skills for the job you are applying. Include the details of your work and skills that will give us the greatest insight on alignment to the role(s) you are applying.
Highlight your involvement, service, and leadership experiences, especially if you have limited work experience to include.
Your resume should be professionally written (Double check your grammar, punctuation, verb usage, word choice).
Years of relevant work or experience should be not more than 5 years old. Up to 7 is appropriate if you remained in few jobs for extended periods of time.
Try to keep your resume to 1 page, 2 pages max.
Use clear/concise formatting that makes your resume easy to navigate and understand.
Remember, this is what you are communicating on paper to demonstrate your potential fit and qualifications for roles
