A rainbow landed in a leafless, bark-stripped tree
where all the crows faced south, above which
a dragon cloud appeared,
majestic
Tearing blue skies
with casual claws
Far beyond our car’s framed perspective
it slid across the hills
And pawed a crystal ball
It acknowledged the wise salmon -
even danced an oriental dance
composed of poses
a tai chi tableaux
Heraldic, blazoned,
the curl of its smokey wrist
on extended glowing limbs
points accusingly…
The dark eye
holds us threatened
The scales clatter softly as it breathes
and on this breath
it morphed into something else...
