We’re excited to bring morning movement back to Aldrich! Please review the details below for participating students and parent volunteers.
Lanyards will be distributed at school on Friday, Sept 5th to all students registered for Walking Club.
Arrival: Walking Club doors open at 7:55 AM and close at 8:05 AM. Students must wear their lanyard to enter and participate.
Drop-off: Students place backpacks in the hallway near their grade-level sign (not in coat rooms or classrooms).
Activity: Students walk with a partner and follow Mr. Mohning on a morning route.
Rewards: Each walk earns a punch on their punch card. Prizes are awarded at 25, 50, 75, 100, 125, and 150 miles.
Dismissal: Walking Club ends at 8:15 AM. Students will enter the building through the recess doors and grab their backpacks.
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, students are expected to:
Walk with the group at a steady pace—no running or excessive lagging
Keep hands and feet to themselves
Avoid coat rooms or classrooms before 8:15 AM
⚠️ If a student receives three behavior strikes, they will no longer be allowed to participate for the remainder of the year.
Walking Club sign-up was included in the 2025-26 Family Form. Registrations were due by Friday, August 22, 2025.

Volunteers can enter the building just prior to 7:55 and sign in at the front office. They will then go to their volunteer assignment if helping with the front door or hallway. Please do not attempt to enter the building prior to 7:50.
Volunteers helping with the walk will be directed by Mr. Mohning and may wait near the front of the line and help punch tags as the students line up.
At the conclusion of walking club, volunteers need to enter the building to turn in their volunteer badge and exit through the front door. Volunteers are not able to visit classrooms or walk their child to class. Please respect this boundary so we can keep the walking club in place.
