2005-today: Lecturer in Naval English: Ecole Navale (French Naval Academy).
Teaching: Maritime and Naval (military) English to officers and enlisted servicemen. English for Officers of the Watch (OOW), Quartermasters of the Watch (Navigators) and Signal Station Operators.
Research: I am an Associate researcher at CREAD EA 3875, (Center for Research in Education Learning and Didactics). My research centers on education technologies, Moocs, Spocs, blended learning and mostly, games for learning. See my list of publications.
Administrative roles: It is the policy of the Languages Department that administrative roles change every two years. Therefore, over the years I have held several positions including Head of a class (110 cadets), Head of language exams, Chair of Naval English, Head of officer courses, and Head of Languages. I've also been a teacher trainer for 10 years.

Post-Graduate Teaching Degree (1996-1998):
Certificat d'Aptitude au Professorat de l'Enseignement Secondaire (CAPES) in English, Institut Universitaire de Formation des Maitres d'Aquitaine (Teaching College).
Equivalent to a M.Ed or a M.A. in teaching teaching ESL. The degree is a two-year degree, the first of which is spent preparing for a highly competitive exam in Anglo-American civilization, literature, translation, linguistics and didactics.
For the chosen few (about 10-15% only), the second year is spent studying didactics (of Modern Languages), and teaching, as a tutored trainee, both in junior and senior high schools, while still attending college courses.
My dissertation was about a project in which students shot and edited videos in ESL class.
Master of Arts (1995-1996):
Major in American Civilization. Université de Pau et des Pays de l'Adour.
My dissertation dealt with Franklin D. Roosevelt's foreign policy and its consequences on the United States' entry into WW2.
Bachelor of Arts (1992-1995):
Three-year joint degree. The first two academic years at Université de Pau et des Pays de l'Adour, Pau, France, and the third at Staffordshire University and Polytechnic, Stoke-on-Trent, England, as an ERASMUS (Lingua) student.
High School Degree (1991):
Majored in Philosophy and Modern Languages (English, Spanish, Portuguese). Lycée René Cassin, Bayonne.
Educational Technologies: I have used EdTechs for 20 years, to create and use Digital Learning Aids for my students. The technologies I know well include:
