These classes are no different than the birth classes meant for all future parents. 

Like the other classes, everyone is invited to attend this course, however these classes cater to the special needs of LGBTQIA+ individuals, and center all systemically marginalized experiences.

    *An understanding of the risk differential between in hospital and out of hospital birth
    *The stages of labor from both a physiologic standpoint, and from the prospective of standard of care
    *More than 40 skills to cope with the intensity of labor and childbirth
    *Practical and intimate ways for people to support laboring parents, and what to expect as the non-birthing party
    *How to witness, understand, work through, and redirect fears surrounding labor and birth at home or at a birth center
    *Movement, comfort measures, and positioning during pregnancy and labor
    *For out of hospital birth, transfering to a hospital: Why and When this might be necessary
    *Medical interventions: When and Why they are necessary, and what standards of protocol may encourage more intervening than is needed
    *How to communicate effectively and advocate for yourself with your healthcare provider
    *The importance of labor support
