Researching, Writing, and Revising

Reflect on your writing process, changes you have made to your process, and your experiences revising your work.

My writing process has changed since starting this class. When it comes to writing assignments previously done, I have now been able to change the overall frame of completing an assignment. I was so used to having the same five paragraph essay format that it got repetitive and boring. Now that we have more freedom to write how we want makes a big difference in the process and experience of writing new works.

Reflect on your yourself as a researcher. What is your process of researching? How do you use research in college? How have you used research in your writing in this class?

I have changed being a researcher. Before coming in to this class, I did little to no research for writing assignments. The most I did was just try to find good pieces of evidence in the articles and quote it into the assignment. Once I entered college and this course specifically, I have changed my overall research process. Now I am more engaged in what I read and am more determined to get a good understanding of the article I researched. I have used research in my writing in this class by using new kinds of articles, scholarly articles for example, to find more information about the topic I will be writing about.

Here is my very first rough draft. This is where I am most vulnerable in my work since I am not trying to make the work perfect. I just put all of the necessary elements needed for the research paper into the work and called it a rough draft.

This is my final draft of this assignment. This is where I put in the most effort into my work. This is my best possible work that I took time to revise and improve upon multiple times over.

This is an example of my writing process where I used Powernotes. This is where I stored all of my information for my research paper. This was very helpful to me since I was able to find all my needed information in one place. It also helped with all of the sections made for each type of source type.

This is my works cited, which was generated by Powernotes. This made the writing process much easier since I did not have to worry about generated each source one by one. It made all citations in a single click and made it formatted in the correct way as well, saving me time to put into other critical parts of the paper.
