As part of a political campaign video, I chose the focus of climate change as a means to run for presidential office, with strategies like attacking the other candidate, and using rhetoric to my advantage.
As part of a political campaign video, I chose the focus of climate change as a means to run for presidential office, with strategies like attacking the other candidate, and using rhetoric to my advantage.
We got to see ways that candidates may shape their videos and campaigns to their advantage, and read in between the lines and analyze different types of campaigns.
This was one of my very first projects, a PSA. I gained editing experience, photoshop experience, and I learned the importance of detail and audio in film.

We chose teen pregnancy because we wanted to show the aspects of teen pregnancy that people may not think about, to encourage safer relations in high school.
We were learning about the influence of targeted ads in terms of the algorithms in technology, that are specifically meant to attach people to their phones and do certain things.
We were learning about the influence of targeted ads in terms of the algorithms in technology, that are specifically meant to attach people to their phones and do certain things.
The assignment was to make a targeted ad for our teacher, Mr. Demuro, based on information that we know and have learned about him. What would drag him in? What would appeal to him? What would get him to buy or do something? That was the goal of this video. I had a lot of fun with this project and doing the photoshop for it.

My editing skills were really put to the test for these two videos, as well as finding a way to connect the people to the audience.
My editing skills were really put to the test for these two videos, as well as finding a way to connect the people to the audience.
I got to work with a hand held equipment that let me move with the camera and keep the camera super straight, as well as work on a video that deals with a lot of movement and action (left). I worked on my interview skills, and my news telling skills and research skills (right).
(top) This video was one of the first promo videos I participated in through helping edit, with the goal of encouraging people to sign up for the class and learn more about it. (bottom) This video contains footage that I recorded. It helped teach me about dealing with movement and making film look fun and dynamic to the audience, learning how to manipulate shots to make them look better than the reality.

This history documentary took my so long to edit, and it was one of my first editing jobs. It was fun to record as well, learning skills like how to deal with lighting when recording, recording b-rolling, and learning how to match music to film and transition through different clips.

My show! I loved making these shows. It stemmed from a small, almost joking idea into a segment of the morning show and it was so fun!
My show! I loved making these shows. It stemmed from a small, almost joking idea into a segment of the morning show and it was so fun!
The show not only gave me experience in the directing department, but it also allowed me to work with others to create the product of my imagination in a way that is authentic and entertaining to those viewing. Editing was also exciting because it taught me new things like the best ways to incorporate sound effects, or how to edit specific clips for comedic effect, and ways to use effects and music to bring a focus to the film and maintain the attention of the audience.

This was a video with the purpose of informing an audience and promoting something for them to do, a type of video I hadn't really done before in this way. We wanted to do it in a way that appealed to multiple audiences and also didn't feel like you were listening to a lecture. I was able to record B-roll and really pick out what is relevant to the video.
